DeKnight, and moderator James Hibberd of The Live Feed. By Jupiter’s Cock, we shall be entertained!

Comic-Con Update: More Passes, Panels, Parties, and Guessing Games

While The Fangirl Nation awaits an official film and television panel announcement from San Diego Comic-Con headquarters that should be coming any day now, The FemmeBot has been rooting around the internet like a truffle-hunting boar…seeking nuggets of wisdom on your behalf. Today’s update includes new information about SPARTACUS, BEING HUMAN, GLEE, SONS OF ANARCHY, HARRY POTTER, SUCKER PUNCH, TRON: LEGACY, SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD, groovy Geek Girls on panels, and what we think we know about Joss Whedon and GAME OF THRONES.

Meanwhile, Comic-Con HQ just announced the other day that on Monday June 28 at 12pm Pacific Time, they are releasing additional con badges and hotel packages. So if you are feeling lucky and still want to go to this “sold-out” event, get ready to work that mouse.

Our flights are booked, our hotel is reserved. San Diego here we come…

News You Can Use: TRUE BLOOD, TWILIGHT ECLIPSE, SPARTACUS, GLEE and more

Don’t forget that the TWILIGHT trinity will be on Oprah tomorrow (Thursday May 13); EOnline has a few giggly video clips. Also, if you love all the great music they use in the TWILIGHT films as much as we do: MySpace got the honor today of announcing all the bands on the upcoming TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE soundtrack, including Muse of course, as well as Metric, Beck, Sia, The Dead Weather, Vampire Weekend, and Band Of Horses. Bravo once again!

Speaking of The Dead Weather and Band Of Horses, their new albums are currently streaming online. Enjoy.

The latest True Blood viral poster to hit the interwebs!

TRUE BLOOD publicity is beginning to kick into high gear now as we round into the final weeks before the Season 3 premiere on June 13. A few links…

  • FanCast speaks to Joe Mangiello, who is playing the show’s first Werewolf: Alcide Herveaux.
  • TV Guide confirmed that real live wolves are being used in Season 3, continuing this show’s use of real animals to represent shifters. Mangiello posted a great photo of himself taking a stroll with his new friend…
  • Sci-Fi Drive By talks with Rutina Wesley (Tara Thornton). Note that this is the blog for one of the writers of the huge news site SciFi Wire and she mentions in the comments on this post that they’ll be posting LOTS of True Blood related news soon.
  • Alexander Skarsgard speaks with IFC News about his new film METROPIA, which just premiered in the states at the Tribeca Film Festival a few weeks ago. This is an animated film with voicing by Skarsgard, his father Stellan Skarsgard, Juliette Lewis, and Vincent Gallo. You can actually rent this film on Amazon Video On Demand right now!

  • HBO has just announced tracklist and pre-ordering for the Season 2 Official Soundtrack. You can pre-order the CD on Amazon, or the digital download via iTunes. There are two versions of the album – note that the iTunes “Deluxe” version will have the track “Dig” included. Right now iTunes is incorrectly listing this song with the title “Headbone.” This track, for you Trubie TruFans out there, was apparently co-written by Alan Ball — and may also feature his voice rapping the lyrics. You won’t be able to find any confirmation on this in the announcements and ads, we assume for legal reasons. But notice how they are now crediting “Bubba Kendall” with the vocals. Wink wink. During his appearance at last fall’s Virginia Film Festival, Alan Ball told the audience he wrote this hilarious groovy tune, which you can hear playing during the huge blow-out party Maryann throws at Sookie’s house, and also during the end credit roll of the episode (#204, Shake and Fingerpop).
  • OPEN HOUSE is a film directed by Anna Paquin’s brother Andrew. It stars THE HURT LOCKER’s Brian Geraghty and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’s Tricia Helfer, and features Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer in smaller roles. The movie just got an American distributor; watch the trailer here.

The Watcher has an exclusive announcement about the near future of a delicious new Starz TV show, SPARTACUS: BLOOD & SAND. While the series’ lead actor goes through some medical treatment, the show’s producers have found a way to keep moving the series along and get new episodes on air for January 2011. They will produce a short 6-episode series that is a prequel story dealing with events at the Lutus before Spartacus arrives. Hopefully by the time the need for a third season rolls around, lead actor Andy Whitfield will be doing much better and the show can return to the main plot as it stood at the end of season one earlier this spring. Gods speed Andy!

This is a terrific resource for GLEE fans: all the songs in every episode, in one place.

Great news for Tim Olyphant fans: in addition to being law-abiding, sexy and badass on the FX television show JUSTIFIED, which was renewed for a second season already, he has just joined the cast of the sci-fi action movie I AM NUMBER FOUR.
